Nearly twenty years ago I founded a record store in my town. I built it because of my enthusiasm for music and collecting records. I owned so many records I was almost forced to start a way to share it all with the world. Well, I did start a record store. It was a lot of fun. However, after nearly a decade I decided I could no longer do it. I started for opportunities to sell. But actually doing it was difficult.
My wife thought I should hire a business broker to assist me. I Decided I didn't want to sell to a larger, less local company. The new managers, I hoped, would keep the small, local store feeling. Thankfully, the exclusive franchising territories Detroit MI said he'd try to fulfill my yearning.
Now that it's not my store I still visit to look for vinyl. I'm always looking for more records, but regrettably it's caused my own record collection to balloon once again.
